98' Rodeo #3 Cyl Misfire

Well this past weekend changed out engines and instantly got the CEL with #3 Cyl Misfire. I changed out plugs, wires and swapped Coil packs with no joy. Checked injectors and compression which were both fine and also swapped injectors arround incase one was stop up. Nothing has seemed to fix this problem. I am going to run to the parts store and get some carb cleaner and see if the Intake Man. is leaking since it seems to be a common problem on these engines. Anyone have any other ideas? Thanks in advance.

Nate

Sounds like you have tried all the right things. The only thing I can think of is wire that is causeing a short.

Checked the intake man. didnt notice any real increase in RPM while spraying arround it. I also did notice something strange. The #4 Cyl spark plug has also doesnt have any carbon residue on it from a succesful fire. So something is up. I tried disconnecting the Fuel Injectors one at a time to see how the engine would respond and it almost stalled out on #1 and #2 Cyl but did not change at #3 or #4. Also inspected the Fuel Pressure Regulator but did not see anything that could cause this problem. Not sure where i am going with this but im thinking i might swap engine harnesses this weekend and see what happens. But im pretty sure that the Injectors are opening due to being able to hear them with a scope. Im starting to think mabey the computer may be jacked or something down that road. Any ideas would be great. Thanks.
