2004, Brake Click

Hello All, When my new 2004 Trailblazer LT is in Park with engine running, and I step on the brake a lound click is heard coming from under the console. This happens every time I step on the brake. Any ideas, or is this normal? Thanks Bob

It is the solenoid on your gearshift. You cannot shift out of park until you step on the brake.

I would send it in and have them replace it. That isn't a normal sound.

Don't send it back in....lol....I have an O3, and mine does the same thing. Put your hand on the top of the gear shift, when you press the brake you can "feel" it click....That is exactly what it is...it prevents you from shifting out of park until you press the brake.
