It depends...so far, the two separate shipping companies that my wife and I used to have our cars shipped home to TX were both very good, but I think that it was due to my wife's almost obscessive insistence on checking and talking to the companies, even before a decision was made.
We found the internet extremely helpful. Google 'car transport companies', check and compare the companies, search for customers' comments. Try not to use middlemen (shipping agents, deal with the companies themselves, and become a pain in the ass with them from the second they pick up the car to the second after they remove it from the carrier.
I can check the records to get the exact name of the company that shipped my Camaro from NJ to TX. They weren't the cheapest, but they were also reasonably priced for what I expected.
Good luck.
