Cheapest way to hit 11.9Im JDM Yo 10-19-2004, 03:16 PM I know you can hit 11's with a CT20B, but with another 2000 dollars in upgrades you wouldnt even have needed in the first place if you had gotten a different turbo kit all together. My question is: whats the absolute cheapest way to hit 11.9 in a MII turbo? Any specific setup you guys have seen that works great and doesnt cost as much as some of the other setups? An 11 second MR2 can be quite comfortble as a daily driver ... in fact, there is a daily driven 10 second MR2 out there (full interior, all options). :) The Turbo MR2 is not a light car, especially for it's size. However if you are only talking about straight line power, then spool time does not mean as much to you as a track car does. So basically i would go for the TD-04 upgrade. (a car can have 11 second potential but the driver may only have the skills to hit 15's) dyno tune and learn the optimum shift points. make sure your car is running well. get a good tire and suspension setup. drag slicks like some MT's or something of that sort would help a lot. good track conditions will help out a whole lot also. make sure your tranny is in good shape so you can shift smoothly. some lightweight rims would help. i think the mr2 is alright for it's size considering the materials toyota used to make it. i remember a discussion about this on the mr2 boards a while back... klohiq 10-26-2004, 07:35 AM learn how to drive your car.
