I really need a 240sx, HELP!lrb_2000 10-17-2004, 04:27 AM Hey, ANYONE SELLING AN 89-93 240SX IN THE PACIFIC NW!?!? I'm selling my 3rd gen prelude, or trying... I need to find a 240sx before I can make the sale final. I'm looking for an s13, as long as it's dohc, runs good and strong...milage doesn't matter too much as long as it runs good... but I don't want to spend more than $2000 on the car. I live in Lewiston ID but will travel.... FDTT 10-17-2004, 05:35 AM $2000 and you expect to get a good running good shape S13??? LOL, i guess miricles happen. How much you selling your lude for? I usto have an 88 2.0S, fun little car but no where near as fun as the S14 :) Tims_240 10-17-2004, 10:28 AM i bought mine for 1100, ran awesome body was almost flawless, mircales happen? i dont know about that, how about you open ur eyes and look for one. but yeah you should be able to find a decent 240 for 2k. SHIFT_KA24DE 10-17-2004, 01:00 PM definitely... i found my 93 S13 with a clean engine/body for 2k. Just keep looking... it's out there. But as soon as you find one don't hesitate to call/contact the person. A lot of 240's slipped thru my fingers that way. FDTT 10-17-2004, 03:47 PM AHHHHHH what the hell. You guys get great deals. Where i am your lucky to find a nice 89+ S13 for under 5k. Wish i got those kind of deals on 240s. I payed 13500 for my 98. And i though that was a good deal .:P rps13freak 10-17-2004, 07:54 PM where are you located. sounds like its not in the US. lrb_2000 10-17-2004, 08:19 PM I think I may have found one...$1800 Body is in perfect condition, completely straight, not a single dent. Motor has 172k but runs strong and shift perfect. Has new exhaust header back. eibach lowering springs, HKS struts/shocks all around, 16" 5 spoke rims... it's great, now I need to sell my prelude right away, or get to the bank for a loan. FDTT 10-18-2004, 03:40 AM Im in Vancouver Canada. And 240's arent cheap around here. The only cheap car is an old civic or a Pony. LOL lrb_2000 11-17-2004, 06:18 AM HAH! I got it. It's a 1989 240sx Coupe. I got it for $1200. Nothing wrong except blown headgasket, cost me $50 to fix. :) D-Bo 11-17-2004, 11:12 AM $50 for a head gasket??? can i send you my car to get my head gasket done for $50??? logik23 11-17-2004, 01:03 PM I think he means the valve cover gasket. lrb_2000 11-17-2004, 01:17 PM no...head gasket was only like $40, then I had to get the intake and exhaust gaskets... I did it myself.. no labor ccost.... Maybe the SOHC gaskets are cheaper, that's what the engine is. Ledzepig 11-17-2004, 08:02 PM congrats... what are ur plans for it? drumpet15 11-17-2004, 08:26 PM Did you sell your Prelude? Where did you find the 240? I also live in the Pacific Northwest and am having a hard time finding any 240's. D-Bo 11-17-2004, 10:54 PM shit man i wish i knew how to use a wrench.. (overstated) i'm not that bad, i just dont know enough to do the work on my car myself.. but congrats on the find.. lrb_2000 11-18-2004, 02:54 AM Well my plans are... at least for now..... I'm buying a KA24DE this week, has 90k miles on it... I'm going to drop it in, drive it for about 6 months probably, pull it, rebuild it, turbo it, and bam! OR I might buy a sr20det.. but the problem there is, i'm going to want to upgrade the turbo, downpipe, pistons, clutch, BOV, and such, so it's kinda pointless to spend $2000 and then put another $3000 when I can just buy a turbo kit for $2500, then buy a cluch and such, for the KA24DE, which I really like. The body i'm going to get side skirts, and back bumber probably, I like my front end. :) Going to do a silvia conversion, OR just get the inlaid headlights... I sold my Prelude and bought this. I bought it from a friend that didn't want to do the work on it... There's about FIVE s13's here, and only ONE s14.. that's all.. there's about 75,000+ people too.. it's nice to have a car no one else has... and all the ones here are stock, except one has an sr20det... I'm only 18, so I get a lot of help from my dad, but he knows just about as much as me on import, but he's been around mustle cars for many years... I'm just trying to show him that I can make a 13sec car out of an import for fairly cheap. SHIFT_KA24DE 11-18-2004, 11:44 AM sweet deal... congrats. btw FDTT... that's a fukin' nice S14 (if that's the exact one you have). kouki s14's are hot as hell. drumpet15 11-18-2004, 01:49 PM Way to go, man! Sounds like you got it under control. Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
