I'm in the USAF currently stationed in Aviano Italy, once I leave here I my orders are to Kunsan Air Base Korea for 1yr, and then on to Yokota Japan. Once I get there I will be picking up a Skyline, but I am wondering what actual going prices are for them over there. I see all these websites selling them "for export only" and they seem to be decent prices. Although I'd like to know what they run on your average used car lot, everything from 1989 GT-R's all the to 2000 or so.

Any help you could offer would be appreciated, this is a while down the road, I'm not set to be in Japan until May 2007, so I'm hoping the price for the 99 and 2000 R34's will have dropped to around $32-$35k by then.

It is not only the cost of the car there, but the cost of registration that hurts. They base their costs on the age of the car. The older the car the higher the price of registration, that is how it was explained to me.

Well according to other people that I have spoken with in the military is that it's not bad at all. There is a guy with a 91 GTS-T (I think) and he said he paid about $300 US a year in taxes and registration. So it shouldn't be too bad. Right now I'm leaning toward a 96 or so GT-R (granted this is a little ways down the road) so I'll have a little money left over to do some mods and buy a second car like a little S13 Silvia or something similar for a couple thousand bucks.

Thanks for the info though Razor, I do appreciate the response. Also I am looking forward to hearing your "information" about importing them to the US that you have discovered, so I'll be standing by watching when you release it.
