brakes seem to draghouston55 10-14-2004, 11:06 AM but release as I drive the Jeep. Brakes do not drag when I'm backing. Can the caliper be the problem. ChadEbert 10-16-2004, 02:57 AM Id look at the brake hose, I think a warped caliper sounds possible, but a brake hose may be more likely. sgtrus772 12-14-2004, 09:07 AM check the guides that hold the brake pads in place. the guides develop grooves and notches that prohibit the pads from sliding freely causing them to not release. if there are notches you'll have to grind them down and lube them with grease. they are only guides and don't actually secure the pads so its okay. msrjeep 12-16-2004, 04:24 AM sticky caliper, collapsed brake line, or scored guide pins. the guide pins are cheap and easy to just replace...
