thinking about a tracker

I am thinking about buying a tracker for travelling to and from work. The trip is about 60kms. one way so fuel economy is an issue, also I will most likely face driving in very snowy conditions by times so I'm concerned with how it handles in snowy or slippery conditions as well. I'm only interested in the newer models as the old ones are just to small for my needs. Any information about these things would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Re: thinking about a tracker

I've owned a 2000 model year Tracker since new, my daughter uses it mainly on college campus and trips home. Has been very dependable, good on snow/ice with the 4 wheel drive. Mileage hasn't been great (17-20 mpg) with the 4 cyl engine, I'd recommend the V6. But, we've had no real problems with it, and I'd recommend one. They are fun to drive.
