Turbo ??????

This guy I work with gave me a Mopar Turbo. I don't know much about it other than the trim is .42 and it's a Garrett Turbo. I am going to do a lookup at work to find out more info on it though. I have a 99 Civic Ex and want to install this on my car if it isn't too much for it. I know the turbocharger is made for 2.2 L cars, cause that's what the instructions say. What are some of your thoughts on if this will work and what kind of parts will I need to install this? I guess what I really need to know is what manifold will work for this. I know about the basics of installing a turbo so please try to keep the normal install parts out of the list. I guess I am really looking for someone who might have experience with installing this kind of turbo. Any help would be great!

It is either a turbo I or turbo II turbo depending on the housing (I think) They are good up to 250 HP

People make 270 WHP on the stock turbo ON AN 8 VALVE HEAD in turbo dodges. The turbine housing becomes too restritive after that point to make more HP. That turbo should be plenty good for 350 WHP on a honda due to smaller displacement and a 16 valve head. This is at 25 PSI or so boost levels though, which you cannot run on pump gas. So, this turbo should get you close to 300 WHP at around 16-18 PSI no problem.
There is one problem however, the flange. Turbo dodge's do not have a standard T3 flange. If you look closely one of the 4 bolts is off-set. This means you need to find a flange and have a custom exhaust manifold welded up.
Specs of the garret T03 turbo-

.42 A/R compressor, 50 trim T3 wheel
inducer-42 mm
exducer-60 mm

.48 A/R turbine, 48 mm wheel

he might be able to run 25 PSI on pump gas with Alcohol injection.

I have very limited knowlege with the turbo dodges. I am a Grand National person and my roomate has a shelby daytona and 1 87 black CSX and a white Hertz rental shelby CSX

Cool, thats a pretty elaborate setup there. Also anybody that build sthere own turbo kit is concerned with the $ factor, $400 is outta the question.
One other thought, alky injection is better on suck through cars (throttle body before the turbo) where the turbo attomizes it before it goes into the combustion chamber. On blow through cars you have to install a nozzle in the intercooler pipe. A nozzle will not even close attomize the alcohol like the blades of a turbo will, therefore giving uneven fuel distribution to each cylinder and might ultimately make a certain cylinder run lean or not give enough octane and melt/crack a piston.
Also there is the matter of having to fill it back up (similar to a N2O problem) and that of course depends on how much you keep your foot into it.

And also like you said we need a pic of it to tell if it's a T1 or T2 turbo. If it's a T1 you need an inlet adapter, you can find them on ebay all the time for $40.

my car is a blow through car, with a number 5 nozzle at 100 PSI it works pretty well, without it I can run 15 PSI at 19 degrees of timing. With it I can run 25 PSI with 23 degrees of timing. There is a fill up thing to worry about but, race fuel performance on pump gas for the fraction of the cost. It is big time money saver.

1987 Buick GN

Stock crank, stock pistons, stok rods (the only engine mod is valve springs.

TE-63 precision turbo.
MSD 50 Pound per hour injectors
stock intercooler
SMC dual nozzle alcohol kit.
ATR 3" downpipe with deltagate wastegate
extender extreme chip
LS1 MAF with the Translator plus.
jimmie mundiline built 200-r4 with 3300 non lock up converter.

thats it.

I also talked to some guys about spraying the alcohol into the turbocharger and they said REALLL BAD IDEA. The nozzles that come with the kit atomizes the alcohol well enough and their is enough heat there to combust the alcohol mix. The spray patteren is finer than a NOS nozzle. The way it was described to me is that it is the same spray pattren as a grocery store water sprayer.

Well yeah in your car, it's atomized liquid don't pass through at intercooler very well! This would only apply to suck-through non-intercooled cars.
