1997 ram 1500 vibration please helpRamPower 10-12-2004, 11:40 PM my truck has a rough vibration around(1000) RPMs then it clears up after then when i am driving at 55MPH and it shifts to OD and hits (1500)RPMs the whole truck shakes until i give it gas or let off then it is fine. also when i am taking off from a stop it boggy like. Please help. josh LTJGWorth 10-13-2004, 04:44 PM Sounds like something is out of balance. Possible the drive shaft. Or the torque converter could have a problem, especially since you said it was bogging. RamPower 10-13-2004, 11:13 PM yea thats what i thought to then i took it to the dodge dealer and they looked in the intake and seen that there is oil in there and said that was the prob but then a hometown mechanic said that couldnt be it so i changed plugs and wires and now it vibrates at every speed on or off the gas so goin to try new gaskets what you think? LTJGWorth 10-14-2004, 08:47 AM Well i can tell you that oil would not cause vibration. I'd have the driveshaft checked out. Then if that's ok, take it to a transmission mechanic and have the torque converter checked. fredjacksonsan 10-14-2004, 09:02 AM I'd check the U joints also. BleedDodge 10-14-2004, 03:59 PM Loose transmission and/or motor mounts will do it too. trainman 10-14-2004, 07:32 PM I had the same problem with my 98 Ram, it turned out to be the torque converter. LTJGWorth 10-14-2004, 08:43 PM Like I said, torque converter. The tranny or motor mounts could be bad, but that would probably cause a different sort of problem. It also wouldn't cause it to bog.
