Wanting to buy one..need help

Hi guys,

Im wanting to buy a 95 cabrio, 2.0, i know its a girls car, but i dont care...i like them, and its easier to drag a surfboard round when you dont have to worry about getting in the boot.

Love golfs, but not sure how limited i am to mods.....i know the engine is the same but im more interested about the body kits etc....

any ideas, any critism and most importantly, any websites to help me out.

thanks

fahim

Re: Wanting to buy one..need help

The new Golf has the 1.8 Turbo. Since VW kept the Cabrio on the older Golf platform, it has the 2.0 8 valve which has limited performance boost without a supercharger which is $2,600 (if only I would hit the lotto!).

My 98 Autotronics chip only cost $100. My 2001 doesn't have anything for less than $300 for the chip. That chip, Premium gas and a K&N airfilter is the quick and easy way to get some perfomance without big $$$. I put Neuspeed lowering springs with the minimum drop of 3/4" and it made a huge difference in the way it handled. It also unfortunately transmitts seams and potholes much more pronounced. Just depends on the type of road you drive and how many miles you drive.

No clue on bodyworks etc.

Best,

D
