'92 sentra trunk leaksSpaztikfingers 10-11-2004, 03:45 PM does anybody have these problems with their sentra's? I was told it could be leaking in from the tail lights and to use aluminum tape to plug the leaks. Sound right? I can't find any holes in the trunk anywhere so I'm just assuming the tail lights like I was told. thanks Nau 10-19-2004, 06:43 PM Just started to figure what's wrong. Two days ago I had my son to water the trunk while I was there looking for leaks. It does leak through the tail lamps. Took the lamp out, and resealed it with rubber (bought in Kragen, in orange tube) Still need to check if it helped. randyw1 10-25-2004, 01:22 AM This is a common issue for Sentra's. There is a slight space around the edge of the tail lights. I used a black silicon caulking and ran a bead around the tail lens and body. Have not had a problem now for over a year. Nau 10-25-2004, 05:56 PM It did the job! Sealed tail lamps with rubber and now it's dry as in desert after a week of rain. Also I had to seal the joints of metal stripes by the rubber seal around the trunk. I guess it was not leaking during the regular rain but I definetely could make it leak by hosing a lot of water on that area. Better dry than sorry. Good luck with your trunk! It's not that difficult, really. You can hose with the open trunk around the rubber seal and you'll see right away where it leaks. Especially hose the lamps well! It's the most suspect area.
