Tool for crank position sensor remove? Advice?gregk101 10-11-2004, 12:18 PM I have a 97 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 4.0l Automatic. trying to replace the CRANK POSITION SENSOR and need some help. Is there a "special" tool that I need, or any easier way of getting the thing swapped out. 4.0l HI, WHERE ARE WORKING FROM ,I GO UNDER FROM DRIVERS SIDE ,FEET FACE PASSENGER SIDE USE A 1/4 INCH DRIVE RACHEET, UNIVERSAL AND EXTENSION AND 1/4 DRIVE SOCKETS. I LEAVE THE OLD ONE HOOKED UP ON TOP. PUT NEW ONE IN PLACE, TIE CONNECTOR AND WIRE ONTO OLD SENSOR WIRE AND PULL UP IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND HOOK UP. TIE WIRES UP AWAY FROM ANY HEAT.
