TRD DECAL removalsanox 10-10-2004, 11:49 PM Hey Guys, New to this forum-just bought a 04 double cab prerunner TRD and so far so good. I couldn't hang with the gas prices over here anymore, so I'm going to sell my 96 Dodge Ram with 8.5" of lift on 35x12.50s, 4:56 gears, etc. and I bought the tacoma. I don't really care for the TRD decals on the bed....have any of you removed these decals? Any special technique? Thanks in advance! corbinwaterski 10-11-2004, 08:55 AM Heat gun and finger nail... gator2764 10-11-2004, 10:09 AM Hair dryer works well also. It should peel off easily with fingernails. TRD-TOYZ 10-13-2004, 12:28 AM Don't forget a bottle of "goo gone". It's the best for getting out the left over sticky stuff. I put some on a rag and rubbed out the sticky. I also had a bucket of water handy. I didn't like it being on my truck for long. After using the goo gone, I washed the area of my truck really good with car soap to get all the oil from the goo gone out. Then I waxed the area really good. Try it on a small area. It worked for me. Good luck! Brian R. 10-13-2004, 02:14 AM coloradotaco 10-13-2004, 05:10 PM It was a bear getting the deteriorating TRD decal off my 2000. I tried a bunch of stuff like Goof Off. It left a shadow that requires wax frequently. gotmadD 10-14-2004, 02:03 AM be careful with a heat gun, as YOU CAN OVER DO IT, but that's what i used...that lighter fluid stuff....ronsonol or sumthin....it kinda helps to take the goo off...after 3 years the goo was kinda hard to remove on mine...the shadow wasnt too bad, and after a year it was gone?!?!?(its the old dark green)....once you get the technique(the right heat+pealing the right speed) u can get big sections off without leaving any goo... 99Tacoma_Austin 10-21-2004, 04:53 AM I picked up at PepBoys an aerasol that is made specifically to get stickers off vehicles. I can't rememebr the name but it did a perfect job. You can always do what I did though on my TRD sticker. I accidently took one of mine off with a power washer at the car wash.
