How To Beat A Radar Gun?RACER D12 10-10-2004, 11:44 AM Wednesday at 8:00pm (east coast) myth busters are going to see how to beat a radar gun. Could be interesting. Underground_Killah 10-10-2004, 11:49 AM well be sure to post here so we can all learn nbw 10-10-2004, 03:16 PM Slowing down not an option? -The Stig- 10-10-2004, 03:31 PM Slowing down not an option? my thoughts exactly. cbell77 10-10-2004, 05:02 PM realy expensive radar jammer with big dish that gos on top of car and adds 40hp easly. Zwrangler 10-11-2004, 09:13 AM i think i've seen a show on this before, not sure but i think it was top gear episode, where they test how fast you have to be going to be too fast for the radar to catch you. As i recall there was only a handful of cars which could go at the speed necessary which i think was around 170miles per hour. Sorry, just can't seem to remember exact details, but all i remember is them saying that there were only a few cars that could actually beat the radar in speed. mcompier 10-11-2004, 09:31 AM It was on top gear... the flash didnt go when he got faster then 250km/h Mister_Sinister 10-11-2004, 10:01 AM Still, if you're going that fast, a cop doesn't need the radar to tell him that you're speeding. Boosted1 10-11-2004, 10:25 AM It's true that the cop will know you're going that fast, but can he/she prove it in court? JekylandHyde 10-11-2004, 10:30 AM It's true that the cop will know you're going that fast, but can he/she prove it in court? Who said the ticket would be for speeding? "Speed not reasonable or prudent" "Excessive Speed" "Failure to obey traffic signs" "Wreckless driving" "Careless driving" "Speed not safe for conditions" Mister_Sinister 10-11-2004, 11:14 AM It's true that the cop will know you're going that fast, but can he/she prove it in court? Easy, play the tape from their in-car cameras. They'll have a good shot of your car flying by at over 170. Underground_Killah 10-11-2004, 12:18 PM or easy... helicoptor backup... i've seen a bike go 200 and get clocked by a helicopter cause the cop couldn't get a good reading. needless to say, one of the highest speed tickets ever Igovert500 10-11-2004, 12:26 PM It's true that the cop will know you're going that fast, but can he/she prove it in court? Cops don't need to have you on radar to issue a speeding ticket. All they need is their word, and it'll beat yours in court anyday. You could be going 180mph, all he has to do is write you a ticket for 120mph, and you just lost your license... TypeS 10-11-2004, 12:59 PM Cops don't need to have you on radar to issue a speeding ticket. All they need is their word, and it'll beat yours in court anyday. With a lawyer, anything can be undone  kcap122 10-11-2004, 01:04 PM Not neccessarely. With a lawyer, anything can be undone  Sure. If you got the $$$, yea you can undo anythin. But 99% of us dont so in general its probly not a good idea to do twice the speed limit. Igovert500 10-11-2004, 05:19 PM Not neccessarely. With a lawyer, anything can be undone  Yeah, if you play professional football and your first name is short for a fruit beverage...but for the rest of us...
