I went in for a quick oil change at one of those 10 minute places with my oil gauge working and came out with it not.... Is the some connection they must have left off or accidently pulled loose?

Not a fuse all the rest of the gauges are good..

check the connection on the sending unit it should have a black rubber boot over it with a single wire.
also what year and what motor do you have?

Yes the black sleeve is in place with a single wire. 22RE and 1991 year are the other pieces of info. Spent most of the day trying to trace down the problem, but ended up staring at this one wire.

This may sound dumb, but alot of garages have made mistakes in the past, and some of them still do. I'm not bad mouthing repair shops, but mistakes can happen. Have you checked your oil level? Make sure your oil level is at full. Another possiblity is that there is no oil circulating throughout your engine b/c of a blocked passageway. How long ago was an oil change performed before the one you just had? There could be sludge bloking the oil from circulating in your engine. I don't mean to alarm or scare you, but this can happen!! Also, the gauge may be broken, not likely.... but parts can go at anytime. Just thought i'd give my "two cents" of knowledge. Let us know how it works out.

Oh, i also wanted to add..check to see if they re-installed your drain plug on your oil pan...b/c from what i hear, these "quick" 10 min places can sometimes forget to do this, but honestly, try and diagnose this problem now, b/c no oil in your engine can cause it to seize up.

take the sending unit out and see if there is anything plugging the hole
