Well, I have pretty much decided to get either a evoIII 16g or a 20g. But I need to get the fuel mods too. I think I'm gonna get the SAFC2 instead of DSMlink for my car because I don't have a lap top yet. Is that a mistake because I could always use some of the 8,000 for a lap top (Hell, I need one for the business anywayz) But what do you guys think? Also. I was looking at the profec E01. I don't have a boost controller yet and I was gonna get the profec b spec2. But hell, If the E01 is good, might as well get this for my fuel and boost. What do you guys think about it?

GReddy's new super multi-tasker is the PRofec e-01 designed as a combination boost-controller, data display / logger and e-manage programmer. The e-01 can provide superior boost response, increased boost, warning meter functions, 3 channel data-logging and access to all the programming features provided with the latest e-manage support tool. Even when used as a boost controller only, the e-01 has features to smooth out the boost curve. With both an auto and manual setting for both external and actuator style wastegates, the new PRofec can alter its new compact, high capacity solenoid valve via various RPM ranges. The large LCD screen with green electro-luminescent backlighting is easy to see. Other standard features include two preset boost levels, a timed over-take boost and compatibility with our Remote Switching System. The data display can view 3 different data channels simultaneously such as boost, RPM or any other channel inputted by the e-manage. The data can be logged up for 3 hours on an SD card while also giving warning set points and peak and hold values. There is also a non-PRofec e-01 version that is only used for e-manage programming and datalogging. (Some features require optional harness to be accessed.)

A cheap laptop can be had on ebay for $100-200 easy. DSMlink doesn't require it to be a really nice laptop, just as long as it has enough memory, etc (check dsmlink's website for the exact specs). With the money you have on budget, I would NOT skimp on the logging/tuning software! It's extremely important, and dsmlink is second to none (unless you are drag only and want a full standalone) when it comes to logging/tuning for these cars. Shell out the extra money for the laptop and eprom ecu and get dsmlink, as it will be THE BEST tool to have.

And my vote also goes to the 20g :)

Yeah, I think I'm going with the 20g. Where can I buy an eprom ecu

My laptop was 50 bucks from a guy at work. Had a cracked lid. Some fiberglass mat and 2 part epoxy fixed that up real nice ;) Just like body work... Its a 275 or so, 32MB I think. Runs DSMlink like a champ. I just installed a friends wireless network card on it since it wouldnt work on his laptop. Worked fine for me, and wireless netwrok is sweet. Nothing like being able to pull up in the driveway and beam all your logs over to the home PC. I'm getting tired of carting floppys around. Plus I could read my email on the shitter, or look up porn while I work on the car outside, etc. I need to get one of those.
