The 440 isn't original to the car if it's a '73 like you say.

what do you mean ? the 440 was avil in 1973 and mine in an orig rr/GTX 440hp "U" code car . the rr/GTX "U" code 440hp was avil till 1974 .
Autofreefindersguy , what is the vin # ? if its an orig 440 rr then its a GTX as well . the 440 was the GTX option .

Cool rare car, U-code 73-74 B-bodies are scarce. I believe they only made something like 330 in 74, 73 still had the forged crank I think. It's funny how Chrysler made cars back then. Road Runner with the GTX option in 73 and 74. Here's a question for all you Mopar heads out there. Did Plymouth produce a U-code 72 Road Runner? If they did, it's gotta be rare!

Those numbers that the 440 put out were indeed bhp numbers and when the engine had 10.1 to 1 compression, 70 and back the numbers were 375 hp, and 480 ft lbs of torque. Now we don't know the engine specs on this car, but assuming that his car was rebuilt with the original compression ratio in 73, something like 8.5 to 1 or 8.7, his numbers AT THE WHEELS of 300 and 440 would put his bhp at something like 360 and a little over 500 ft lbs of torque. I hope this helps.
