does anyone know how to wire like for example fogs lights or anything else up to a switch? do i go wire the switch to the battery and then what ever i need to power wire that to the switch. do i ground the switch or just go back to the negative terminal on the battery? i know that the switches that are required are 12 volt right?

any help will be greatly apprieciated

You'll have a wire coming from your battery or power source, then a wire running to whatever your powering and you'll have a ground wire, which is not hooked up to the negative battery terminal by the way.

you can run it directly to the batter ground.

Actually, there are some switches out there that you don't have to ground. 2 of the toggle switches that I have in my car are not grounded and they work fine. But, if there is a ground switch, you can hook it up to any bolt that is connected to a good deal of metal and if it's painted, make sure you scrape the paint off.
