Wad up! The hurricane turned the island upside down. Long story short jeep got banged up. Rear liftgate glass gone, dent to the passenger side door front & rear, leaving my front pass.door without the key cylinder, just a black hole, scratches & grooves everywhere. How much would the glass & lock cylinder cost. On the upside i pulled a dump truck out of a ditch after the hurricane. My beautifull island's gone. :disappoin

I was wondering how you did through all that, I'm glad to see you made it through. I'm sorry that so much was damaged. Hopefully you guys will be back to the norm sooner than later.

ok the DL on the Glass, does it have Defog and Privacy glass (tinted), if so it is expensive, I have a 94 Grand Cherokee Limited and had to have the rear glass (Defog and Privacy) replaced, it would have cost me $1600 (Retail) to buy it from the glass repair shop, or I would have paid $850, if I bought it from them and had them put it in- I knwo didn't make any sense to me either, but I lucked out and the Junk yard had one, and it cost me $80 for the glass and $60 to have it put in.

Grenada. Was a limited with the privacy glass, Dont need defog. Sun year round. A manhattan dealer quoted $430, but junkyard sound like the way to go. Also what do you think freight will cost to ship something as fragile, & Heavy to my destination. Anyone ever replaced their lock cylinder, how would my key be made to fit the new lock.

just claim it on car insurance. most glass shops will give you a discount big enough to cover your deductable.

hi grenada .....one question , how in the hell did the hurricane remove your passenger side door lock???????????????, did it dissapear or do you still have it in hand ?. the original key wont work on a new lock, unless you can find a locksmith to make the cylinder adjustments , or just use 2 keys ...if you still have the lock, you may be able to switch out the cylinders for same key usage ....

I think it would be better to switch out the key cylinders.

hey glass. Flying 2x4s from my neighbour's house seem to be the culprit, causing a dent in both front & rear passenger doors. Now upon further inspection the interior piece of the lock is still in the door(it just tilted downward), however the silver piece that is visable on the outside where u push your key into, has broken off. it doesnt look repairable. The funny part is i already have 2 keys. One for the door & one for the ignition. Thanks to the previous owner breaking his keys in the ignition. I dont want a third(the jeep aint a vault). Just my luck. That f@*king hurricane.

not joking , but you may as well use a 2x4 to straighten the lock cylinder up so you can use the key in it , it outside piece can be replaced , and reuse the interior cylinder for the same key , otherwise , look for replacement door ,
