More Power for my 94 GT?turbospeedy 02-15-2002, 01:54 AM I have a 94 Grand Am GT with the 3.1, i've search high and low for performance parts for my car, and turned up with jack. Sure...if my car was an import i'd have unlimited choices, but i think it would be something different to upgrade a Grand Am. so my question is where can i find performance parts for it and what is recommended. Thanx. lucky93 02-23-2002, 03:32 PM for the 3.1 you could add a better exhaust system(flowmaster), chip, port and polish job, a cold air or regular cone filter intake, nobody makes headers for older ga's as far as i know, there isnt a whole lot like u said, stop by gmpowertalk.com for more info in the forums shamrocl 08-09-2004, 01:04 AM try mantapart.com, i think that they have stuff for a 3.1, i built my whole motor off of this website. the only problem that i had was that the company that was making the performance rods for them stopped so eagle had to diamond cut a set, the whole motor took me six months to do. tylot3 08-09-2004, 07:00 PM I would definately go with the flowmaster and chip. I made mine sound really cool by getting a K&N air filter and then removing the entire bottom part of the air box ( I didn't have either handy and used a hammer and pliers). You will need a dremmel tool or saw to do it, you have to leave enough of the bottom so that it will hold the filter in. I also tried using a cold air filter on the crinkle hose and the K&N with the cut out box sounded better. I also put in an incredibly ghetto ram air system. I went to my local hardware store and for $8 bought a 3" exhaust hose and zip ties. I ran the hose from the right side of the car in the air dam around the radiator across the front of the engine compartment and to the air filter (there wasn't enough room on the left side because of the battery). I don't know if I gained any HP, I need to get ahold of my buddys beltronics to find out, but my engine runs up to 50 degrees cooler. If you spent more time looking around for better parts you could probably get a better system than that. I would suggest trying to pop out a fog lamp and putting some hose in there. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
