Ha ha, that's an awesome story man. I've only learned about the Grand National in the past couple weeks or so. Looks like the hype surrounding them is legit about the validity of the car as being a genuine drag racing monster.

I'll keep my eyes peeled for more good posts of road kills like this one.

Cool man, glad to hear you are toasting some V6 'Stangs as you move up the food chain. I can't wait to get all my ducks in a row with my mods and rebuild my car this season. She's going to be so sweet. I'm not even going to let the cat out of the bag with what I'm going to be running (a lot of it hasn't even come through yet - so I don't want to jynx it!).

And the funny thing.. damaged goods though she may be (with my still as of yet unresolved cylinder head issues), she is still running great. What I have on her now (remember that JR has my charger for repairs) is a great (though non-extreme) NA set-up, i.e. basically AEM CAI, DC Sports 4-1 SS header, and Mugen twin looop exhaust. Never before have I been able to feel out the different phases of engine operation so clearly (i.e. below VTEC, the dual-stage intake starting at 4,400 rpms, and VTEC at 5,800). She's still got it.

thanks JD

Hey with all those bolt-ons your throttle response is noticeable quicker right?
On all my friends cars they started to have to shift earlier in the rpms or else they would redline...I still have to start doing "Go" mods...right now i've been just doing stuff to the interior and exterior "show" stuff.

Yeah man, the throttle response is quicker, though it still feels slow to me, as I had gotten used to the engine's supercharged characteristics. It was almost impossible to shift before 3,000 rpms in first!! I had one friend who kept bumping into the rev limiter, so I had to be a dick and stop letting him drive it! Under pressure, it's incredible how quickly the rpms fly by in low gears.

But anyway, I do like the bolt-ons as I said, because more than anything, if you want to really feel what VTEC does, they allow me to do so. The phases are much more pronouced with the intake and exhaust flowing without noise-supressing/airflow-restricting characteristics dialed into the design parameters.

That story was funny as hell! The music was the kicker. I think a lot of people under estimate GN's.
