Rattling from under the hoodurasula 06-02-2001, 02:10 AM Hi everyone, My car generates a rattling noise when going up a hill; the noise is espically noticable when I driving up a service ramp. I'm guessing is it some sort of lose or worn out belt? I'm not sure. If you guys have an idea of what the problem is, please advise. Thanx in advance, p. DVSNCYNIKL 06-02-2001, 05:51 PM Could be anything. It might be your CV boots or joints have a problem. Could be the type of gas you use, thus, some fuel injection cleaner. Could be..... ahh, I could go on. Maybe if you were a little more specific as to how the sound comes. Do you hear it only on inclines or turns? It's just hard with that little info. urasula 06-02-2001, 11:41 PM Thanx for the reply. To be more specific, the rattling sound comes mostly from inclines. Dprotech 06-04-2001, 03:54 PM Check the rubber mounts that sit on either side of the car just under the hood. Twist them up a little to hold the hood in tension, the sound you are getting is probably a rattling hood. Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
