I have a 77 and would like to know what is the best manual to use as a guide.

MGB Restoration Manual by Porter is pretty good, see-

The factory manual reprint by Bently Manuals for repairs. And there is Haynes Manual no. 111 for MGB.

For repairs and maintenance, I like the Bentley manual better than Haynes. For restoration I was told the Porter book was good. Try half.com or ebay in addition to Amazon to find a good deal.
