92 g20 6 cly. problems

Hello,

I recently purchased a 92 g20 with about 90,000 miles on it.

When driving at speeds below 35 the ride is smooth. When I hit about 35-40 mph the van starts to shake at times. It feels almost as if I were driving over those little bumps that they put on the side of the road to alert sleeping drivers. Any idea what this could be? Please help because I need this van for work ASAP.

thank you

I had my trans changed and i bent the shaft while taking it out ,anyway i only got vibration at 45-55 mph then after that the vibration went away.i had the shaft balanced and had new u-joints install as well and now it ride like a caddy.the balance job was 150 bucks but well worth it

I took it to a nearby mechanic for a diagnosis and they said that it was something wrong with the engine, but they couldnt be sure exactly what under they hooked it up to the computer for $130. I'm not sure if I'm believing that.

I checked the U-joints and they appeared to be solid. There wasnt much play at all in there. I havent checked the ball joints or tie rod ends yet but I will. I don't really think that's what it is tho. It seems more to do with what gear I'm in but I could be wrong. Anyone else have any ideas?
