Hey i just realized i have 2 cracks in my header. I talked to a Mechanic and he said he could just weld them. I know he's gonna charge me some outrageous labor charge just to do it so I wanna buy a new header and put it on myself. I don't have much knowlegde when it comes to working on cars but i do own the HAYNES bible. The header i want to buy is about 4 peices. The Header, The Gasket, And to other pipes..It's suppose to be all bolt on... How hard is it to put on?? any Advice?? thanks in advance..

Cracked exhaust headers are common. There is no need to rush out and buy a new manifold because of it. If you are concerned, just let someone patch 'em up with a torch and happy day. If you are wanting to upgrade your headers and you are just using the cracks as an excuse to (I have to do it myself sometimes w/ various things to justify the $$$:) replace them with something that will flow better, then be sure to purchase a decent brand name manifold & etc. Make sure you know what you're doing. It's best if you have it done some where or have someone "auto-smart" help you w/ the install.

I dont think that JB-Weld will stand up to that heat. JB-Weld 600f.
