Help me inbreed low profile with off road looksbosljeff 09-26-2004, 12:33 AM I am looking for something in the middle of the "all rim look" (305/50/20 w/ 20x9 rims) and that "off road look" (32-33x12.50x___) Can I get the 20" rim with the bigger "off road size" tires? Tires like bfgoodrich M/Ts, Toyo Open Country M/Ts...and so on. I already looked at those company's sites and they don't have that size. Any help would be appreciated. I drive a stock 00 Yukon Denali. Again, I like the look of 20" rims, but I want to combine that with the not-low profile look of off-road trucks (35x12.50x15...). Is there such a combo: 33-35x12.5x20? Who makes it? What is the happy medium metric or standard? I'm not too concerned with the tread pattern. Thanks for all the help. Vroom2 09-29-2004, 05:45 PM I too love the look. Toyo and Nitto seem to have the lion's share of the market. I believe the closest you'll find is a 325/60/20, which would be too tall for your application. I don't know of anyone who's installed such tires without at least a 3" lift. I doubt you'll be able to go much larger than 32" in diameter without encountering serious issues with fender liner - and front bumper - rub. Good luck... In all honesty, I'm trying to help a friend out that bought the denali. He was going to buy tires from Les Schwab (western states tire dealer) and they said what he wanted couldn't be done. I used to work there, and we all know with the right offset and tire/wheel combo that virtually anything is possible. So, with that in mind (and to possibly save money) I told my friend I would do some searching, because I knew at least a little of what he wanted would be possible. So if he wants, say, and 18" rim, or something, what is the biggest low profile tire that might fit the denali? Ideas? Hope that makes sense. Toyo (Open Country), Nitto (Grappler), and Cooper (Discoverer...AT, I think?) make aggressive tires in a 285/60-18 that might work. Here's a link to a great tire size calculator. You can play with the numbers on any size tire and wheel... http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html Good luck! Take care, Jerry bosljeff 10-01-2004, 06:04 PM Awesome, thanks. I especially appreciate the specific numbers and the calculator. Much appreciated. Jeff Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
