I have a '98 Accord EX that just started Whining at idle and throughout acceleration. One of the belts is smoking but I cannot tell which one exactly... However I'm guessing it's the main belt.
The car has 117K miles and did have the water pump, belts, etc replaced at 105K (recommending by Honda). Any ideas of what would normally go? I'm suspecting a bearing on one of the pullies.... Help!

Well this may seem simple but if your belt is smoking, take the old one off (it's probably shot) and before you put the new one on turn all the pullies that the belt rides on. If one doesn't turn or looks like it has black burned rubber residue then there's your culprit. Pullies come either with the bearing already pressed in, or sometimes you can just buy a new bearing (i'd go for the assembly myself). My friends celica 2.2 had the same problem and it was indeed a pully bearing, his tensioner pully to be exact.
