converter lockup elimination

I have a 92 tbi system and I am going to swap the transmissinon. I need to know what to do with the converter wires. Do I leave them undone, hook them together or ground them.
I could also use some advise on emission elimination. The whole system is going into a 72 and I won't need them. I was planning on leaving them but if I can eliminate them it would make a cleaner install. I have done several engine swaps like this, but this is the first without an aftermarket harness.
