If you like Silverstars, you'll LOVE this trick

I installed Sliverstars (9006-low 9005-high) on my Aurora 2001 and they make a big difference. Silverstars give a nice bright white light similar to the HIDs you see on Merecedes, BMW, Lexus, etc. without the $500+ cost to convert to HIDs.

Then I read how some people have gone a step FURTHER and put 9005 bulbs into the low beam section. So I tried it and want to share this revelation with other Aurora enthusiasts.

9005s are 70% brighter than the 9006 and are not capped. Don't worry about other drivers thinking you have high beams as the outside beams are pointed low while the inside (highs) are aimed higher. You won't blind oncoming traffic but you WILL get a nice bright white coverage in the low beam area. Check it out by just putting in 1 bulb on 1 side and then take a drive down a dark street.

You have to slightly modify the 9005 which I do now in 3 minutes with a soldering iron/knife and file.

Details are here (its for BMW but its exactly the same thing for us)

someone else wrote me from the other site and pointed out specific instructions for the Aurora (seems I am not the first)

I would like to hear anyone else's comments if they have done this modification
