Aurora to be Re-Introduce in 2006
Has anyone heard that the Aurora will be re-introduce as a Cadillac in 2006? A Cadillac Dealership here in Illinois stated that GM has received numerous inquiries about the Aurora. Seems like the Executives want to phased out the Cadillac Catera and replaced it with the Aurora under the Cadillac Badge. Makes sense, since in 1995, GM did not know which direction they wanted the Aurora to go in, i.e. Olds versus Cadillac, that's why the first 1000 or so Aurora's in 1995 did not have a OLDS emblem on them.

None of the classic Auroras right up to 1999 had anything but Aurora on them.
The only place it said Oldsmobile was on the radio.
That changed with the 2nd Gen car in 2001.

Well, I hope that is so. I've been a Bonneville fan for years. When my 92 SSEi got too rusty I found a 95 Aurora in the car lot. It took a while to get over the Bonne, but the Aurora is really starting to grow on me, when it's not being fixed. but then, the Bonneville had its share of problems too.

Re: Aurora to be Re-Introduce in 2006
Hasnt the Catera been discontinued and re-introduced as the CTS? I have a hard time believing that the CTS will go.
If so will the "new" Aurora be based on the new STS?
Oh baby! 5L50 tranny 350 crank HP RWD Aurora...good lord!

Re: Aurora to be Re-Introduce in 2006
This article doesn't say anything about Cadillac, but it says Buick will have 2 cars with the Aurora north star engine in them.
Exerpt from article...
'05 Park Avenue, and perhaps LeSabre, get 32-valve 4.0-liter all-aluminum V-8 from Olds Aurora. Expect 280-300 horsepower if variable valve timing makes jump from Cadillac's 4.6-liter Northstar in 2006

no, i got it for $2490, plus the gas and tolls i had to pay to drive to MA and get it from OH. It was worth it though. The only thing it needed was rear brakes, and i got the 2 rotors and pads for $40. It is very nice for the money, and im very happy with it.

What about
"Aurora V8 - Made exclusively for Oldsmobile by General Motors" on the engine cover?
Mine's a '95.

I can just picture some guy at the Buick plant with a sharpie crossing out "Oldsmobile" and writing in "Buick"

Yeah OK - but most people won't see that when you're driving by.
