Question Wiring/Restoration of a 73 Roadrunner

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows a site where I could get some restoration tips and/or a wiring diagram for a 73 Roadrunner. I haven't actually purchased the vehicle yet, but I will hopefully tomorrow if my neighbours are home. I am fairly new to the restoration thing, and I'm looking for anything that will help me right now. The Roadrunner looks like some of the wiring has been cut up (on the interior, possibly for a cassette player). Also, the body has some small patches of rust on it, approximately 2 inches in diameter. Will I need to sandblast and repaint? Should I just use a AC hand sander to touch up the rust and then prime the spot and repaint? Any help is greatly appreciated on this topic, if you need more information please ask.

You can buy complete wiring harnesses from Year One and a few other companies. If it's a typical 32y/o car, the wiring is a hodge-podge.

Re: Wiring/Restoration of a 73 Roadrunner

With everything they said about the wiring go for it. I've got my 74 Road Runner being dropped off in town this month to start it's restoration. Now with the rust you do not want to sand over it and prime it. It will just come back even worse. You will need to cut out the rusted areas to get to good metal, usually an inch or two around the rust, hit that exposed metal with primer to make sure rust doesn't start before you get work done to it. You will need to either have a patch panel to put in that area or go the route I am going to fiberglass over the hole.

Good luck man.. If you need anything
