After taking off the neg battery cable, the alarm goes off and the car will not start. Do I need to get the activation codes to reset?

If it is aftermarket, press the unlock on the remote 2 times. If OEM, try unlocking with the key in the door.

I tried what you suggested and it still will not work. I think that the anti-theft alarm has shut it down until it can be reset unless anyone else has any more ideas.

I am having the same problem, but I don't have the original keys with the buttons on them.

I found out there was a toggle switch under the drivers side dash and that would reset the alarm and the car will now start.

So, it's was some sort of aftermarket alarm system then?

Yes, these alarms sometimes are more trouble than they are worth to me. But then again I have never had a car stolen. :eek7:

Well, just like any electrical gadget, it is almost impossible to know how to use it if you do not have the manual or use it often.
