Question Clunking under my feet

I recently started noticing a clunking feeling and noise under my feet as I am driving. It is most noticeable when I am going at slower speeds and over small bumps. I have just replaced both front hub assemblies so I don't think it would be that. Any ideas what this could be?

if its a 4x4, it would be a torsion bar mount

Thanks, I'll look into it. Do you think it needs to be tightened or replaced?

Re: Clunking under my feet

there is a bar on that runs across the bottom of your truck i just fixed mine but its about a 2 inch bar they did a crap job on mounting them to frame and then they didnt give you any room to fix but there is a beam that runs perpendicular to it. get a circular clamp and run it throu and tighten it it will last you about a year or so depending on how rough you drive it

Re: Clunking under my feet

NAPA carried the mounts in stock for my 91 and 93. About 20 bucks for the pair, if i remember right. Easy to do yourself, but if its not for you a labor charge of 60 if you take it somewhere. The rubber between the 2 metal plates seprates, thats the clunking. Two studs on bottom fram one on top for my years.

BlazerLT is correct. I couldn't believe it myself till I did the fix myself a couple days ago. With the hood open, go back to the rear corners of the hood and lift the hood at the corner. You will see that the hole in the hood hindge is larger than the bolt that goes through it. The spring washer as described looks like a small cone or spacer that fills that void.

I was just about to replace the ball joints till Blazer turned me on to the fix. Can't thank him enough.............Saved me lots a $$$
