2005 4cyl info please

Could anyone tell me if the 4 cylinder non-turbo engine is an interference engine? Also, does this engine have a timing belt or a chain? At this point, it doesn't matter because I am always sure to change timing belts when specified. But, I do like knowing if a broken belt will cause the damage.

I'm looking at Outbacks, likely the 05, 2.5i Limited wagon. My brother has two (a 2002 with AT and a 2004 with MT) and swears by them. He's also had other Outbacks that are much older.

I WILL surely be trading in my 2000 Camry on one.

TIA for any info.
