help ???

ok i have a 1990 Grand Prix LE ... when i start sometimes it stalls ... other times its fine .... it stalls when putting it into reverse and the rpms are very unsteady in idle ... i think its the fuel pump or spark plugs ... any suggestions ??? also i had someone try to read the code and nothing showed up ....

check fuel pressure first, you should have 35psi at the schrader valve with the car running. If you don't, pinch the return line. If the pressure shoots up with the line pinched, the regulator is bad. If it still stays low, you have a bad fuel pump. If your fuel pressure is ok, then you may have a bad crank sensor. 2 common problems that don't always trip a code.
