1994 S10 Stalls/SES, worse when hot out

Sorry in advance if this has been covered. I have read most of the posts I think relate to my problem and am looking for new info and help in narrowing down what I should do. 1994 S10 Blazer

•SES light recently started coming on. It comes on after about 15 miles.
•Engine started stalling around the time first noticed the SES coming on. •Engine stalls when truck comes to a stop. It will start fine initially and after it stalls without problem.
•Stall are worse when it is hot outside, 70+. When it is 60 or below does not happen near as often.
•Seems to get worse the longer the truck is driven.
•Turning on the AC makes the problem much worse. Will stall now at low speed.
•Idle used to sound high when first started and at rest. Now it sounds normal, does not stall when started but idle is not as high as before.
•Also rotten smell from the exhaust. And you can hear the fuel pump (what I was told) if you are standing behind truck and the pump runs for about 30 seconds after engine is off. This normal? The smell and pump running have been since I bought it a year ago.

If anyone could list in order what I should check (any helpful diagnostic advice welcome), as I am not much of a mechanic.

TIA,
Art

Take it to Autozone and ask them to run Diagnostic, they'll hook up the computer and they should be able to narrow the problem down if not pin point it. The best thing is it is free if you take it to them, if you take it to a shop and have them do it, it runs about 60-80 dollars!

Thanks for the info. Did not know they didn't charge, only problem is the closest one to me is about 75 miles away. Hoping I could zoom in on a couple of things and test first. Was hoping it was something simple like a sensor or bad plugs.
Thanks,
Art
