I was on a vacation in pheonix this summer and i saw a 4th gen SiR civic and a 2nd CRX SiR. Do any of you guys know were I could get information on where to get my hand on one, they were really nice. I'm guessing they have to be imported, and can they be registered??

My sister might be stationed in Japan and I was going to see if she could have a SiR CRX imported for me. I know that you are allowed to do that.

This sounds very wrong. Only the Euro VTi CRX (150bhp B16A) had a leather interior, the JDM had cloth/vinyl. The Euro Civic SiR had cloth trim similar, but not the same as the JDM. Leather in a JDM wasn't an option except for a steering wheel. But... if it was a Euro then it should be LHD not RHD (unless there is one country that got it which was different to all the pics of all the LHD Euro SiRs I've seen). You might find that the Euro had better emissions control than the JDM if you wanted a LHD one. I *think* their designation is EE8 and EE9.
If they are the real mccoy then the interiors have been redone.
Not that I'm helping about the import legalities

I only saw them from the outside, so I'm not sure if it was leather or vinyl, if it helps, the name of the shop was called import powerhouse, it was in phoenix

Sorry Setanta mate I gota correct you on the leather.
It was an option on both the EF8 and EF9s in Japan. Iv seen one Leather equiped CRX SiR, and Iv seen the Japanses parts book for the Civic SiR which listed the leather trim option.
Its not very common of course, but it is however quite possible that some yank with more money than brains found one of each in Japan and shipped them to America.
The only way to really tell of course is to lift the bonnet and look for the little blue build plate with EF9 or EF8 stamped into it. Because all the EF9/8's have it.

Well I can get you one with out the leather. All I have to do is walk out my frount door.
But I doubt you have enough money to buy the car, ship it to the states, then pay all the dutys and crap.
You can have my car for US$8,000. Or if you want I can find another one here in NZ for about US$3-4,000 which is what a nice one is really worth. (but then you have to add shipping and dutys on top of that.)

Oh sod off :finger:
Bastard - you always rub it in that my plate has been removed for Aussie "compliancing".
Actually, anyone can add an anodised plate... but it does need the EF8/EF9-xxxxxx stamped on the firewall.... which I have along with climate control not EDM controls :finger:
I didn't know about the leather interior... Honda doesn't list it as an option, just the steering wheel. Still, it wouldn't be the first time they missed it. I've only seen pics of the Euro though and only with the CRX, not the Civic

go to www.jdmhondaparts.com they have one for sale on their page...a right hand drive crx si-r. no price determined for it though. probably a whole lot more than it is worth and then you can't title it until you go through a whole bunch of crap...better off doing a swap on a beater like myself. i figure that after i put all kinds of time into a dx and get the right parts i can make a respectable 4g si-r for less than it would be to import one and then i don't have to learn to shift with my left hand.
