1998 chevy express fuel filter

Hey folks!

My wife let the van run out of gas the other day so I put some in from my small gas can. It ran okay to get to the gas station but the next morning it would not start. The battery is okay but the van just keeps turning over without starting. I think it might be a clogged fuel filter but I'am not sure. It just seems like it is not getting any fuel to the engine. I know that sometimes letting the fuel tank run dry there might be debris that gets into the line. What do you think? If it might be the fuel filter where do you think it might be located?

Thanks

Sjohn

Re: 1998 chevy express fuel filter

'02 express f/f is at the front end of the gas tank. If you replace it, do this before re connecting the engine side of the line: turn on the ignition to pressurize the fuel line, and check to see if the fuel is pumping from the filter. If so, the pump is good. If not, the pump is toast. I think that's what you've got,
