'00 LS2 Power locks don't unlock when key is removed from the ignition

I have a 2000 SL2 with power locks. Normally when the key is removed from the ignition, the locks unlock. This no longer happens. I have to use the interior switch. The power locks work otherwise without any problems. They lock when I put the car in drive too. They work with the interior switches as well as the keyless entry so I am perplexed. Is there a fuse or a module that needs to be replaced or is it something with the ignition switch. Any input or ideas would be helpful. Anyone with a similiar problem. Trying to avoid a trip to the dealer. Thanks in advance.

Turn the ignition key to the run position, then hold the power lock switch in the unlock position for five seconds until the horn beeps to confirm reprogramming. This fixed the problem immediately.
