Definitley swap the ZC into your Civic. You can even use your stock tranny. It's recommended to because the Si tranny has better gearing than the ZC tranny. As for the ECU...use the 88-89 Integra LS ecu for higher redline and fuel cutoff.(The Si ecu rev limiter is at 6800 and the ZC redlines at 7200) Just keep that in thought and you should be fine. ;) :)

i retract my statement... so what i only had my si for like 8 months and several of em it has been parked... i took it out for a quick spin and nailed my limiter at 6,800 :D

Actually. It depends on what you are looking for. The ZC tranny is geared closer together for better acceleration. The Si would be better on the gas milage though. So if you are looking for nothing but acceleration then go with the Zc. And the Zc ecu would be better to use than the Teg ecu. But they are hard to find.

If I was doing the swap I'd use the tranny that came with the motor. I've seen how quick a '84 JDM Si with the factory ZC has launched and it was damn quick :)

I got a ZC swap w/ a usdm 91 Si tranny, and a 88 teg ecu, I wish I had the zc tranny, the thing is, as noted above, it is geared closer together, but the tranny was designed to handle HIGH revving, also noted above, the stock Si ecu cuts out at 6800, if thats so the tranny wasn't designed to go up high,

the zc tranny need funny axles, my buddy put used a zc tranny in his car, you need an intermediate shaft, and that alone was 100 buck plus the teg axle and anoter axle, but he's gunna smoke me,

LOL...it's not gonna mess the tranny up by taking it up to 7200 RPM because of the ZC redline. i used the Si tranny and 89 LS ECU when i had the ZC at one point. Any tranny can handle about 1000+ RPM or more than it's supposed to. Like when you do LSVTEC to an integra for example...the redline on that is 6500 or around there and when you use the B18A/B1 tranny with LSVTEC...LSVTEC redlines at around 9K. I havent heard of any blown trannies from that.
