Sorry guys, newbie post on what's in a skyline?

Thanks for not hurting me now. i've searched the forums for a couple hours and still havn't found a solid answer. i'm looking into seriously getting a r32 gtr in the next year or so ( i know it take 3-4months to get one after ordering it). i've read up on getting the car and i've read up on some of the things that go bad and what to do. as well as some things to boost horse power. my main questions are...

1. what is some of the major standard equipment in a r32gtr skyline? pw,ps, pd, abs, cruise, airbags? sorry for the gaint newbie ?'s maybe a link to a giant break down of every spec on the car like a english online owners manual would be awesome.

2. where do you guys get your usual up keeping parts (mainly for us guys) but for anyone where do you find oil , air and fuel filters, usual water, fuel and power steering pumps, tranny and diff fluids and everything to keep ur skyline happy.

3. where is a place to find oem parts. if someone decided to kick my side glass in, where i can i find a replacement part for that.

4. what oct gas does it require? will it run a on cali 91 or does it prefer 94 and even 101?

i think that's all for now. thanks in advance.

Im no expert since Im still waiting on my car, but I'll answer to my best ability.

First and foremost, throw the timeframe idea out the window, 3-6 months is what it used to take. Most people have been waiting for more than a year now, and a couple of people are close to 2 yrs. My car has been in the US since around Jan/Feb 2003, and I put the deposit on it in April 2003, still dont have it.

1) PS, PW, ABS are all standard, I dont know about Power doors or cruise since I've yet to drive one. If you have a fast connection I can upload the R32 Service manual, it's 23mb and 800pages.

2) Some parts from the Nissan 300zx and Infiniti J30 work with the R32. Also places like Rbmotoring & MotoRex keep those kind of maintence parts in stock.

3) Rbmotoring is the place to ask for OEM parts in in the US. You can also order stuff from J-garage.com or get a broker agency to buy parts off of Yahoo japan for a finders fee. I dont like Motorex so I try not to reccomend them but they can get stuff too.

Wasnt able to upload it, yousendit.com is keeps timing out on me. You can get it here though, it opens with Adobe Acrobat.

Forgot to mention, yes you can run a GTR on 91 oct, but it would be best if you can get your hands on 100oct in a drum or find a station that pumps 100ct. I live in NY, 93 is everywhere, and there's a few places that have 100oct all within 10 mins of me.

Yea you wish you had one cause it was on 2 Fast 2 Furious, damn ricer......JUST KIDDING lol. Anyways, J-Garage.com is a good place, and the people that work there reply e-mails fast. But the problem is the language difference, so I suggest RBmotoring.com

abuC ~ How long did it take to ship?

Re: Sorry guys, newbie post on what's in a skyline?

91 octane - might as well just keep saying 'ping ping ping' to yourself... We have 98 here as the highest pump fuel and it is OK. If you can get 100 octane - use it.

R32's had driver airbags as an option in later (94) models. If you are looking at an 89 - no bags. They have climate control, power windows, power mirrors, central locking - but no cruise control. Has ABS - V-spec 32's got Brembos too.

Fluids shouldn't be too hard to source - parts can be readily sourced from Japan, NZ or Aus.

Best simple things to get more power:
Breathing - intake, front pipe, cat, exhaust
Boost - remove factory boost restriction clip
Timing - Cam gears
ECU - I have a PFC - there are lots of other options
