painting cars as a job/

I have been kind of interested in maybe persuing a career working in a body shop and painting cars. I Know the community college in my area offers classes, but I was just kind of wondering how artistic you would have to be? Thanks in advance.

Well its not so much as artistic its more like how well you can see and how steady a hand you got , artistic comes to play for air brushing or non traditional painting methods. In the factory a machine paints the cars , the machine isnt artistic and doesnt find its mistakes thats what you would be learning in college or body shop aprenticeship to find mistakes or repair mistakes and damages.

Paint doesn't need an artistic hand, all it need is a smooth steady hand to spray on evenly; unless you get into airbrushing or pin stiping (I don't mean the sticker pin stripes)

most of where a painter needs to be is in the prep work. The devil is in the details.
