Question Tahoe rearview mirror temp malfunction

The temperature reading on my 2000 Tahoe reads "OC" instead of an actual temperature setting. Can anyone tell me how to correst this problem?

Thanks

OC means Open Circuit. The temperature probe behind the front grill has gone bad or one of the wires has broken. To check the wiring, unplug the sensor behind the grill. Use a wire to short across the two connector pins. If the wires are ok, the mirror will read SC for short circuit. This means the probe is bad. Probes should be avail. at your local dealer. Good Luck.

Mine reads 60 degrees all the time no matter what the actual outside temp is could this be the same reason?

Re: Tahoe rearview mirror temp malfunction

Mine reads the compass part fine, but when I press "Temp", it goes blank until I press the "Comp" button again. Any ideas?
