Don't bash my ride

What happened to mutual respect an comradery?

I'll admit that I wonder what the Chevy designers were drinking when they came up with the appearance of the 2003 Chevy Silverado, not to mention those flattened wheel openings on the Avalanche and all that body cladding...

But, I bought myself a new 2003 Chevy Silverado Z71 anyways! You just can't argue with the solid performance, engineering, and functionality.

In spite of many people I've talked to who also think the Avalanche, (which shares the same funky hood lines and front facade as the new Silverados) is pretty ugly, it took Motor Trend's Truck of the Year when it was introduced, for its shear ingenious design and functionality, and not for it's appearance.

In fact, in the past 11 years, Chevy has won Motor Trends Truck of the Year a whopping 7 times! And Ford, only once.

But don't get me wrong. Ford and Dodge have beautiful trucks, too. Even some of the imports have some nice features. I even came pretty close to buying a Ford.

I am just making a point that a teams of individuals around the world have gotten together to engineer some amazing products. The competition is always trying to out do eachother. Thank God for that! What color! What variety! I love having a choice! And we are blessed to be able to live in a country with the freedom to choose and the economic prosperity to afford a decent life and a nice truck!

I absolutely hate bashing of one group by another, especially for something as senseless as this. You can argue Chevy is better than Ford, or Ford is better than Chevy, all day long. What a waste of time! I'd rather appreciate and RESPECT the diversity in design and customization of such beautiful machinery, and have the choice to choose what pleases me. I'd rather get ideas and learn new tips, tricks, and customization ideas from my fellow 4x4er or hotrodder, than to bash his ride or argue whose is better.

Heck, if I could afford it, I'd own one of each truck!... Oh, and I'd get a '66 Mustang, and a '70 Cuda to go with the '69 Z28 I already have.

Spread the love and respect!
