EGR valve?

I have a '96 Dodge Neon, and have had many problems with it. I've already had head gaskets, cams, seals, timing belts, exhaust manifold gasket, rear main seal and the like replaced, repaired, whatever. After all that, my engine light is still on and I am told the EGR valve needs replacing. At the time I didn't have them do it becaue I already spent $500.00 and figured it could wait. Anyway, my question is...is it really the EGR valve that's causing the car to stall out at stop signs? I've been keeping my foot on the brake and gas to prevent this at lights and tolls (I'm sure it's reaking havoc on my brakes). Also, about a week and half ago it started "missing", or chugging when accelerating to higher speeds, could the EGR be responsible for this as well. I had the spark plugs last replaced Dec. of 2002.
Any suggestions? Getting rid of the car isn't an option.

egr is part of your exhaust sytem which mainly deals with air and vacume issues in your car, problems are usually within the vacume system or even a dirty air filter( or inlet tube) can do any of these problems.

the egr could cause the vehicle to stall at lowe speeds, its will also cause the vehicle to misfire at lower speeds... But there are also many other problems that can cause you vehicle to die out... it depends on whats wrong with the egr, will determine if it will misfire at higher speeds.
