I Dont think i wanna go through the thinking process and the expense of a swap so im going to do with what i got (88 civic with 1.5 SOHC) and do it up a bit.

For ait intake what is better and can give me better performance the short ram intake or a cold air intake system????

An intake will not make a difference on a 1.5l sohc civic. They have the dpfi system and it sucks. It only has 2 injetors. It does not respond to mods very well. I would first upgrade to the mpfi system and then do some bolt ons. A cold air intake is better than a short ram.:)

hey now, my old DX had some nuts on it. I could beat 95 DX with I/H/E. :D

But if you look a few threads down, i think somone was selling a complete mpfi setup.

A 96 dx is a pig...lol:) My old dx did have some balls but it really didn't benefit from the intake or exhaust i put on. JMO though. I would highly suggest doing the mpfi swap. It is a cheap and effective upgrade.:)

Definitley the CAI like everyone else said....even though the DX doesnt respond to mods very well. My friend has a 91 DX HB and he has intake exhaust on it. He raced me thinkin it would be quicker and it wasnt  :hehe:

Cold air over a ram every time. A short ram intake has the potential to lose power if you are sucking in hotter than ambient air. It's why I have kept my SiR intake box - I test ran it with a high flow filter (7% better flow than the Honda element) and actually got better results than running a CAI that had been on a VTiR (6G Aussie B16A hatch).
