what models is BMW bringing out in the short/medium term?
I would appreciate some information on all of these models, no matter how little is known
i heard about:
1-series - vaguely remember seeing pics. this would be the smallest model on offer from BMW. kind of a hatchback if i recollect correctly. Not FWD, is it?
2-series - slightly bigger... "spiritual successor to the 2002" i think
3-series - not for a good 4 years i should imagine
4-series - apparently the next generation 3 series will be only the 4 door and touring version, with the coupé & cabrio becoming the 4-series. this seems like a good idea, more product differentiation.. apparently the future existence of the 4-series is why the lights on the 3-series 4 door have been changed but not the coupé. they're trying to distance the 2 models as much as poss so eventually the coupé (4-series) will be a physically very different car to the 3-series, apart from the chassis underpinnings. can anyone confirm?
5-series - saw pics about it coming out soon... when does it come out? doesnt look great from what ive seeb
6-series - coupé, based on shortened 5-series chassis... looks pretty good, talk of an M6 with 450bhp.. now that sounds tempting.
8-series - i heard something about a new 8-series long ago, but nothing concrete... i guess it wouldnt make sense to make an 8-series as well as a 6-series.
X3- saw pics, sporty 4x4 3-series kinda thing, no?
X7- big luxury 4x4.
Z9- concept car, or replacing the Z8? cabrio only?


and that about does it.. thanks for any info.. are there any sites that cover all this, any comprehensive sites on Bee Em?

I believe the 1 series idea was canned when they aquired Mini. The 2 series I havent heard anything about in a while. 3series... yeah in a while... the E36 lasted from 92-99, the E46 started in 2000. People have been talking about a 6 series coming back... who knows. 8 series, I wish it would come back. X3, X5, X7 all true, it's coming. There's a new Z3 coming, The Z8 won't be replaced for a while, a long while, and the Z9 is just a concept car, it will never hit production.
