RPM @ 60-65ph?

What is the normal range of RMP for a 91 525i at around 65 mph? My car revs around 3000. Is this unusually high for such a speed? It acts as if the overdrive is not kicking in. any help? -Vince

I have a 91 525I, I'm pretty sure I run right around 2 grand at that mph

I know my car is different because it's a 535i, and I honestly rarely cruise at 60-65 mph so I can't remember what the revs are there, but the other day I was cruising at ~80 and glanced down--the tach indicated about 3,000 rpm.

Automatic transmission between 525i and 535i should be the same.
