Hi,
I have a 2000 Kia Sportage 4x4. About a month ago it started making a grinding noise from the right front tire. It didn't do it alot so I kind of forgot about it. Now it is back and constant! It doesn't do it right away when I drive it, but about 5 miles into driving the noise starts. Sometimes it seems, when I hit a bump the noise will stop but about a minute later it will start back up again. I would like to take it to a mechanic but I would really like to have some idea what it could be before I do.

I had the same problem with my 1999 Kia sportage. I had to take it to a Kia dealer and all the work they performed was covered as it was a recall. After they replaced some part in the wheel well (I think) the sound went away and has not reaccured since.
